Berlin Mondiale is looking for an employee for the accompanying programme of the Youth Culture Initiative. We are looking for a colleague to provide process support for both the work in the institutions and the development and implementation of the accompanying programme.

Desired start: 15.01.2024 (limited until 31.12.2024/ an extension is sought); Hours: 25h/week; Remuneration: salaried/ based on TV-Berlin (collective agreement for the public service of the federal states), level 11.

Berlin Mondiale is committed to celebrating the cultural diversity of Berlin's urban society, breaking down barriers in the cultural sector and promoting transcultural and transdisciplinary collaboration in the arts. Together with the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion, Berlin Mondiale has developed a new programme, the Youth Culture Initiative (JKI).

The Youth Culture Initiative strengthens the participation of young people through outreach, participatory cultural education programmes for children, adolescents and young adults ("outreach"). The programmes are developed in cooperation between cultural institutions and local stakeholders. In this way, the JKI contributes to opening up the cultural sector to an increasingly diverse urban society. By promoting equal living conditions in all areas of the city, the programme also counteracts a socio-spatial divide in Berlin.

The implementation of the JKI is supported by "Berlin Mondiale" - a project that has several years of experience in initiating cultural events in disadvantaged neighbourhoods and with a diverse population. The focus of the accompanying programme is on networking art and cultural actors with socio-spatial actors and acquiring public spaces for artistic formats.

The tasks include:

• Development, implementation and documentation of events & formats of the accompanying programme

• Networking of art and cultural actors with socio-spatial actors and the acquisition of public spaces for artistic formats

• Critical feedback to/discussions with stakeholders involved (Berlin Mondiale, cultural administration, cultural institutions, partner organisations in local neighbourhoods)

• Documentation of the processes and results

• Preparation of a final publication

What we expect as a prerequisite:

• academic or practical professional experience in the field of culture/ politics/ education

• Discrimination-sensitive language

• Attitude critical of power and self-reflection

• Process-orientated and structured work

• Helping to create a trusting working atmosphere

• A desire for teamwork and dialogue

• Knowledge of cultural policy/cultural promotion is a plus, but not a prerequisite.

What you can expect from us:

• A creative and artistic working environment

• Extensive insights into many areas of administrative cultural work

• The opportunity to contribute independently and actively and to help shape areas of responsibility in the administration of Berlin Mondiale

• Task-related further training opportunities

• A committed, interdisciplinary, collegial team

• A workplace in Neukölln and the opportunity to work from home

In view of our goal of breaking down access barriers to the cultural sector and working in a power-critical manner, we are particularly pleased to hear from people who speak from marginalised positions. If you are interested, please send informal application documents (CV, short letter of application) to info@berlin-mondiale.de by 22 December 2023. The interviews are expected to take place in 2024, in week 2.
