Job Opening: Project Manager
Project Manager (m/f/d) for the pilot project of Berlin Mondiale “Culture Connects Neighborhoods – Participation through Cultural Urban Development” starting April 15 or May 1, 2026
Berlin Mondiale is seeking a dedicated Project Manager with an interest in cultural urban development and enthusiasm for collaborative, discrimination-sensitive cultural work.
Berlin Mondiale is a network for cultural education and artistic collaboration in Berlin’s districts. Its goal is to foster sustainable partnerships between cultural institutions, local arts and cultural organizations, stakeholders in cultural education, and partners from civil society and local communities. Berlin Mondiale works with a critical awareness of power structures, is sensitive to discrimination, and follows a process-oriented approach as a learning organization.
The pilot project “Culture Connects Neighborhoods – Participation through Cultural Urban Development” is funded by the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing of the State of Berlin. Its aim is to establish co-creative, community-oriented processes for cultural activation in the areas of Wedding 06 (Leopoldplatz) and Kreuzberg-Nord 08.
The Project Manager position is responsible for the operational implementation, coordination, and management of the pilot project and works closely with the executive management, neighborhood coordinators, local stakeholders, and administrative partners.
Responsibilities
- Operational project management and coordination of implementation in both project areas
- Management and coordination of project components (network building, cultural programs, participation formats, space activation, public relations)
- Collaboration with district authorities, neighborhood management teams, civil society organizations, cultural actors, and local initiatives
- Organization, facilitation, and documentation of workshops, cultural formats, network meetings, and participation processes
- Close coordination and support of neighborhood coordinators
- Planning and monitoring of timelines, measures, and resources
- Contribution to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for the funding body
- Participation in developing long-term continuation and transfer strategies from 2028 onward
- Maintenance of project documentation, overviews, and working materials
Conditions
- Part-time position (30 hours per week)
- Initially fixed-term until December 31, 2026, with a planned extension subject to funding approval
- Salary based on TV-L 11 (depending on qualifications and experience)
- Work location: Berlin (Neukölln, Wedding, and Kreuzberg-Nord)
Your Profile
- Completed university degree (e.g., in cultural studies, social sciences, humanities, urban development, architecture, or a comparable field)
- Several years of experience in project management, ideally in culture, urban development, community work, or social infrastructure
- Knowledge of participatory, co-creative, and community-based approaches
- Experience working with public administration, funding bodies, and civil society stakeholders
- Good German language skills (written and spoken) required; additional languages are an advantage
- Strong organizational skills and a structured, independent working style
- Strong communication skills, team spirit, and a sense of responsibility
- Sensitivity to diversity, social inequality, and anti-discrimination approaches

Job Opening: Office Administrator
Office Administrator (all genders welcome) to support the Berlin Mondiale office Starting March 1, 2026
Berlin Mondiale is seeking a dedicated Office Administrator with strong organizational and communication skills and a genuine interest in collaborative cultural work.
Berlin Mondiale is a network for cultural education and artistic collaboration across Berlin’s districts. Our mission is to build long-term partnerships between cultural institutions, local arts and cultural initiatives, practitioners in cultural education, and partners from civil society and local communities. We take a power-critical, discrimination-aware, and process-oriented approach and understand ourselves as a learning organization.
The Office Administrator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office and serves as a central hub for organizational processes as well as internal and external communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily office operations and ensure smooth internal and external communication
- Provide administrative and organizational support to management and the office team (scheduling, correspondence, meeting minutes)
- Maintain partnership and cooperation databases and support project-related administrative processes (liaising with accounting)
- Organize and support internal and external meetings, workshops, and exchange formats, including coordinating venues and service providers
- Assist with HR administration, occupational health and safety procedures, and staff training records
- Order office supplies, maintain inventory lists, and carry out preparatory bookkeeping tasks
- Contribute to improving and documenting administrative and organizational workflows
Position Details
- Full-time position (39.4 hours per week)
- Initially fixed-term until December 31, 2026, with a planned extension until December 31, 2027 subject to funding approval
- Salary in line with German public sector pay scale TV-L E9
- Location: Berlin-Neukölln
Your Profile
- Relevant vocational qualification and/or professional experience in office or business administration is an asset
- Proficiency in standard office software
- Excellent German language skills (spoken and written) are required; additional languages are a plus
- Friendly, professional communication style and strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, able to work independently and in a structured manner
- Discreet, reliable, and responsible
- Team player with resilience and an interest in cultural policy and social issues
