Apfelsinenplatz Is Part of Kulturinseln Gropiusstadt

Apfelsinenplatz, a Berlin Mondiale Hub, is part of the Kulturinseln Gropiusstadt project for the next two years. The program of the Neukölln District Office activates four central public spaces in Gropiusstadt through artistic and community-based activities in public space. Its aim is to create places of encounter where neighbors can actively participate and contribute their own ideas. In addition to Apfelsinenplatz, the program also includes Wildmeisterdamm, Pavillonplatz, and Lipschitzplatz.
A diverse program of workshops, concerts, and open formats takes place at Apfelsinenplatz:
Lebendige Fäden (Living Threads)
→ Every last Thursday of the month
Textile workshop for creative repair
Ceramics Festival
→ On three Fridays in June, at Rotraut-Richter-Platz
Experimenting with clay and working together
Summer Concerts
→ July to September
Three concerts transform the square into a place for music and community gathering.
More information about the project and all activities can be found on the website of Stadtkultur Neukölln:

Apfelsinenplatz as a Hub
Since 2021, Berlin Mondiale has been developing Apfelsinenplatz together with the local Evangelischen Kirchengemeinde into a lively, intergenerational and multicultural meeting place. Over the years, more than 90 artistic collaborations have taken place, around 80 projects have been realised, and over 5,000 people have participated. The space functions as a hub for neighbourhood collaboration and artistic practice, continuously shaped and shared with local communities.
