Clay Oven Workshop: Build, Bake & Connect

Together with architect David Moritz from Baking Futures, we will build a clay oven over four days in the garden of Wichernkirche in Spandau. The finished oven will later be used for further workshops around baking, cooking and sharing food.

During the workshop, you will learn about the rammed earth technique – an old building method in which earth, clay and other natural materials are filled into a form and compacted layer by layer.

David will show you how the technique works and guide you through the process of building the oven together. You can get hands-on, work with the materials and experience how an oven is built step by step from earth. No previous experience is required. Come along and build with us!

How to get there:
From S+U Rathaus Spandau, take bus 136 towards Hakenfelde and get off at Mertensstraße. From there, it is approximately a 5-minute walk to the venue.
Bus X36 also stops at Mertensstraße.
